DMCE provided full MEP design services for a new 7,540 SF fire station for the City of Thornton. The facility includes offices, kitchen, day room, dining room, six bunk rooms with laundry, three restrooms with showers, a fitness area, two apparatus bays, a bunker gear/decon/work room, and an EMS room. Mechanical scope included zoned HVAC, gas-fired infrared heaters and a CO/NOX monitoring/ventilation system for the apparatus bays. Plumbing included sanitary, domestic hot/cold water, sand and oil interceptor, trench drains, and storm drainage. Electrical scope included power distribution, lighting, fire alarm specification, emergency generator sizing, and solar PV coordination.
